Good morning, Juicers. Thursday's bet won by less than the length of your phone charger. We'll take it. We'll also never talk about how long that fourth quarter felt.

π§Ύ The Refill: Otton's line, graded. Half a yard to spare.
π The Squeeze Play: Nothing hit our number. Here's why that's a feature.
π₯€ The Main Pour: 92% of the tickets on one team, 85% of the money on the other.
πΉ The Juice Bar: Two games that almost made the cut, and which way we lean.
π Peel Back the Numbers: A college line fell through the two biggest numbers in football.
β‘ Quick Sips: A goalie on IR who isn't hurt, and two more.
πΌ Vintage Juice: A 1919 line move with a terrible reason.
π Juicy Meme: Juice finds out which pile has the better accountant.
π§ Brain Juice: 92% of the tickets are on San JosΓ© State. 85% of the money is on Wyoming. The spread ticked from SJSU β5.5 to β4.5. What's the honest read? A) The public is always wrong, bet Wyoming. B) Someone larger is on Wyoming, but that isn't proof they'll win. C) Ignore money %. Only the opening line matters. Answer in The Last Drop.

Yesterday's Squeeze Play:
Cade Otton Over 24.5 receiving yards (β156), Novig, 1π
β Won Β· Bucs 24, Cowboys 16 Β· Otton: 3 catches, 25 yards Β· +0.64 π Dallas was an 8.5-point favorite and lost by eight. We needed half a yard and got exactly that.
Squeeze record: 8β3β0 Β· +5.04 π

No Squeeze today. Nothing hit our number. A pass isn't a play.
Friday's board is shapes without a stampable price. The near-misses are in the Juice Bar.

92% of the tickets. 85% of the money. Different teams.
Wyoming visits San JosΓ© State tonight (9:00 PM ET). On the moneyline, 92% of the tickets are on SJSU and 85% of the money is on Wyoming (Action Network, ~7:00 AM ET). Lots of small bets on the favorite, fewer and bigger ones on the dog. The spread ticked from β5.5 to β4.5, toward the money.
Iowa at Washington is weirder: 80% of spread tickets, 86% of moneyline money and ESPN's model (60.2%) are all on Iowa. The line went the other way: Washington β1.5 at open, β3 now.
Why it matters: tickets count people. Money counts dollars. When they split, the bigger bets are on the side with fewer tickets, and neither number tells you who's right.
The Juice take: someone larger likes Wyoming, and somebody likes Washington more than the crowd does. Those are shapes, not reasons. We don't bet a shape we can't explain.
Betting Twitter has a word for this. We have four: we don't know who.

Two games we rated that could've been the Squeeze Play but didn't quite make the cut.
Iowa at Washington Β· 9:00 PM ET
Lean: Iowa +3.5. Iowaβs defense is allowing 12.6 points and 288 yards a game, and they run for 180. Washington lost to USC 26β13 last week, and Seattleβs forecast is rain and 53Β°, which helps the Hawkeyes.
Wyoming at San JosΓ© State Β· 9:00 PM ET
Lean: SJSU ML. Wyoming scores 14.2 a game, its QB has 2 TD and 6 INT, and they got blanked 28β0 by North Dakota State last week.
Odds as of ~7:00 AM ET. Not official plays.

7.5 β 3.5
Florida State at Louisville's spread, open to now. (Source: Action Network, as of ~7:00 AM ET Oct. 9)
π€ Vig's breakdown:
3 and 7 are the most common final margins in football, so a line crossing both is a bigger deal than 4 points sounds.
ESPN's model has it close to a coin flip, about 54/46 Louisville.
The limit: no injury news explains the move, and we can't see who made it.
What it means for you: if you grabbed Florida State +7.5 early, you're holding a number that's gone. If you didn't, don't chase the old price. Bet the number in front of you, or pass.

NHL: Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck is listed on IR but suspended while he holds out for a trade, and TSN's Darren Dreger says that stance "remains firm." TSN
MLB: Cleveland rallied twice to beat the White Sox 9β5 and force Game 5. The road team has won every game. ESPN
WNBA: Atlanta's Allisha Gray is questionable (finger) for Game 3 against New York, and no WNBA team has come back from 0β2. ESPN

Oct. 9, 1919: Cincinnati beat the White Sox 10β5 in Game 8 to win the World Series. Before Game 1, a last-minute surge of money flipped the Reds from underdog to slight favorite (SABR). The reason: the Black Sox fix. Most money moves never get explained. Box score (Retrosheet)

Count the people. Then count the dollars.

π§ Brain Juice answer: B. Ticket % counts bets; money % counts dollars. Few tickets with most of the money means the Wyoming bets are bigger. That's a shape, not a win rate. Not A: "always" is doing heavy lifting. Not C: the move off the opener is the story.
How was today's letter?
