Blue Jackets at Sabres: Buffalo ML

Columbus won a shootout last night and then packed for Buffalo. That is our kind of tired.

The moneyline opened at −132. It is −170 at FanDuel. That still sits inside the −200 cap. We do not have to lay −1.5. We just need Buffalo to win. Overtime and a shootout both count.

Why we're in

Columbus beat Dallas 2–1 in a shootout on Thursday, then travels here on no rest.

Buffalo last played Wednesday. Ottawa won 2–1 in Buffalo.

Columbus is 7–7–0. The Jackets are 1–4–0 on the road.

Buffalo is 7–5–3. The Sabres are 3–4–0 at home.

The Pulp

Buffalo is 3–4–0 at home, which is not a fortress. Columbus already leads the season series 1–0. Alex Lyon is on IR with an upper-body injury. ESPN lists a November 22 return date. Buffalo hasn't confirmed tonight's starting goalie. Konsta Helenius is out with an upper-body injury. Buffalo also has Justin Danforth, Matt Grzelcyk and Jack Rathbone on IR. Columbus has an empty ESPN injury list, and empty is not the same as healthy. If Buffalo ends up starting a call-up in net, we are out. If the juice goes worse than −195, we are out too. What happened: Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley are both on injured reserve, so the Ravens started rookie Joe Fagnano on Thursday Night Football. Baltimore also kept snapping the ball straight to Henry. Jacksonville coach Liam Coen said his team "practiced Wildcat a ton." Fagnano threw for 60 yards. Final: Jaguars 33, Ravens 10.

Why it matters: Baltimore has now lost four straight. The Ravens are waiting on Jacoby Brissett to arrive, which makes him the most important Raven not currently taking direct snaps.

The takeaway: Until a real quarterback lands, betting Baltimore means betting on a Wildcat and a prayer, and Juice does not price prayers.
