π Refill: β Β· Arizona/Texas Tech Under 54.5 (β110), DraftKings, 1 π Β· β1.00u
All we asked was under 55 points. Arizona and Texas Tech were model citizens through three quarters at 47. Then the fourth quarter found 13 more, like it had somewhere to be. Texas Tech won 34β26. Under: cooked.

π Squeeze Play: Chiefs at Broncos, Chiefs β1
Yesterday's Squeeze lost. We're 22β10, the vig sent flowers, and we've moved on like adults.
This line opened Chiefs +1.5. The market took one look and dragged it to β1, and most books are already hanging β1.5. BetMGM is still at β1, so we're grabbing the half-point before somebody in a back office notices. A one-point Chiefs win is a push: we get our orange back and pretend we meant it.
| Game | Chiefs at Broncos |

Why we're in
The market moved hard toward the Chiefs, from +1.5 to β1.
Most books sit at β1.5, so we're getting the better half.
Denver's secondary is down a safety: Talanoa Hufanga is out, and Brandon Jones is questionable.
Mahomes is expected to start. We'll take that sentence every week.
The Pulp
Kansas City is short two too: CB Mansoor Delane and DT Omarr Norman-Lott are out. If Zach Allen suits up, Denver can win this at home. Neither QB is officially confirmed yet. If the inactives list surprises us, so will our afternoon.
Walk-away: Worse than β120, we pass. If the line moves to Chiefs β2, we pass too.

Forecast: rain. Also, chaos.
What happened: USC took down No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday night in a rainy Coliseum. The final was 30β18. Trent Mosley caught a 69-yard touchdown on the second snap of the game, which is just rude. Ohio State didnβt find the end zone until 2:12 was left. Thatβs a long time to look for something that big. USC recovered the onside kick, kicked a field goal, and the fans stormed the field like the Coliseum owed them money.
Why it matters: Ohio State closed as a 6.5-point favorite at DraftKings. The books were feeling very sure of themselves. Freshman Luke Fahey made his first start with Julian Sayin hurt, so welcome to college, kid. The Buckeyes drew 11 penalties, which is a lot of yellow for a team that wears scarlet. One influencer posted a $550,000 betting weekend, and Ohio State was on the slip. Bold time to post.
The takeaway: A freshman quarterback making his first start on the road, at night, in the rain, is a lot to lay points into. Thatβs not a spread. Thatβs a dare. USC paid +200 to anyone who noticed, and the poncho was free.

Today's leans: Not ripe enough to squeeze. Yet. We liked them, just not enough.
The Jets defense keeps losing players to the injury report. The injury report is undefeated.
Game: Raiders at Jets, 1 PM ET
Sport/Type: NFL total
Book: FanDuel
Odds: β115
Lean: Over 45.5
Why: FanDuel has the Over at 45.5. The price is β115. Most books sit at 46 or higher, so this is the low number, and low numbers are the only bargains in this building. Pinnacleβs fair price on that number is about β115. Fair, not free.
Pulp: The Jets are without Joseph Ossai and TβVondre Sweat. David Bailey is doubtful, which is injury report for βbring a jacket.β New Yorkβs last game ended 28β25. Geno Smith threw three touchdowns in it.
Juice: A defense short on bodies? Iβm buying fireworks. Big ones.
Vig: Buy the small ones. Itβs a lean.
Tennessee is short on weapons, shorter on points, and fresh out of excuses.
Game: Titans at Bengals, 1 PM ET
Sport/Type: NFL total
Book: FanDuel
Odds: β112
Lean: Under 46.5
Why: FanDuel has the Under at β112. Pinnacleβs fair price is about β110. Itβs a fair price, not a gift, which is why it lives on the Vine. Gifts get squeezed.
Pulp: The Titans are 1β6. Carnell Tate is out. Joe Burrow threw four touchdowns in his last game, so this lean needs Cincinnati to coast.
Juice: Burrow could get bored. By halftime, even.
Vig: Weβre betting on a quarterbackβs attention span. Proceed accordingly.
Odds as of 8:20 AM ET. Not official plays. Leans are not part of the Squeeze record. FanDuel is a sportsbook; available where legal.

The Valkyries are champions in year two. Golden State beat Atlanta in Game 7 at Chase Center. The final was 68β63. Gabby Williams scored 30, which is a lot of points to carry home in one bag. Most expansion teams spend year two learning where the bathrooms are.
No. 1 Miami survived. North Carolina still covered. Miami won 38β35 as a big road favorite. Mark Fletcher Jr. scored three touchdowns. North Carolina scored with 1:38 left, and it landed inside the spread. Miami fans celebrated a win. Miami bettors celebrated nothing. That was the most expensive garbage time of the weekend.
Kalshi is now worth $40 billion. The prediction market raised $1 billion this week in a round led by Sequoia and Wellington. Back in May, it was worth $22 billion. Thatβs not a valuation. Thatβs a parlay that hit. Our read: investors are betting Kalshi wins its fight with the states, and they arenβt hedging.

The myth: a top-ranked road favorite is a safe parlay leg. No. 2 Ohio State lost outright at USC on Saturday. So much for safe. Miami came in at No. 1. Then it let North Carolina score with 1:38 left. Miami hung on by three, which counts, but only barely.
Our take: A ranking is a poll and a spread is a price. The poll is a vibe; the price is math. Road favorites lose outright more often than your group chat admits, so price every leg like it can lose. Your parlay doesnβt care about the poll. Also, sometimes itβs raining.

The idea: Plus odds tell you how often an underdog needs to win for the bet to break even. Add 100 to the odds. Then divide 100 by that total. No calculator tantrum required.
Today's example: USC was +200 at DraftKings against Ohio State. That price only needed USC to win about 33% of the time. The Buckeyes treated it like a sure thing anyway. One night was all it took.
The takeaway: A dog price is a percentage, not an insult. Ask Ohio State.

Forecast: rain. Nobody mentioned the fans.

π€ Vig's answer: Franco Harris, for the Steelers against the Raiders in 1972. Pittsburgh hosts Cleveland today, and nobody has caught one like it since.
