We’re backing Ohio State at home, not submitting a medical school application. The availability reports made that distinction surprisingly difficult.

We checked the Novig price at 51% this morning.

The spread is −7.5. Ohio State needs to win by eight. Winning by seven still loses, because the books do not accept “close enough” as legal tender.

Why we’re in

Oregon starting quarterback Dante Moore is out for the season.

Leading rusher Jordon Davison is expected to miss the game too.

Our read: Ohio State’s defense, at home against that depleted offense, is the matchup we want. That is our interpretation, not an injury report promising a cover.

The Pulp

Ohio State has its own quarterback problem. Friday's report listed Julian Sayin out, and Luke Fahey starts. If the Buckeyes struggle to sustain drives, Oregon can hang around without producing much offense. We can pick the winner and still lose the ticket. A lovely customer service policy.
