GM. This is Everyday Juice, the newsletter that tracks price changes without turning every arrow into a prophecy.
π We sat out Monday. The Saints made that look smart.
π« Three lopsided splits. Three prices doing three different things.
π― One orange on two aces. First five innings only.
π One swing changed nothing, except every Under ticket.
π° The "free money" your buddy keeps finding.
Brain Juice: 87% of the bets and 95% of the money are on Toronto. Since Monday midday, the price has held at β151 to β157. What's happening?
A) Bigger bets on Nashville are holding the price down
B) The books will move it once more Toronto money arrives
C) A one-sided split, by itself, doesn't force a move

Yesterday: PASS Β· nothing to grade.
We wanted Saints β1 or better, got β1.5, and stayed out. Atlanta scored on its third play and won 45β24. At β1.5, that's a loss we never took. A pass isn't a win. Just not a loss.
Called it (not graded): Monday we said Yankees β128 was a hard sell without Judge. Rays 5, Yankees 2.
π« The Main Pour
Same kind of crowd. Three different prices.
Everybody loves a betting split. Tonight we've got three lopsided ones, and the prices did three completely different things with them.
π§ Stuck: Predators @ Maple Leafs, 7:00 PM ET. 87% of the tickets and 95% of the money are on Toronto. The price has sat between β151 and β157 since Monday midday. All that money, zero movement.
π Backwards: Southern Miss @ Troy, 8:00 PM ET. Tuesday night college football, the gas-station sushi of sports. 94% of moneyline tickets are on Troy, but 74% of the money is on Southern Miss. The price went against the money anyway: Troy β365 β β410, spread β9.5 β β10.5.
π Moving: Islanders @ Rangers, 7:30 PM ET. 86% of the tickets and 78% of the money on the Rangers, and this time the price followed: β130 β β155 at DraftKings.
If splits moved lines, all three would've gone the same way. They didn't. Books move on information and on their own risk, and the crowd is only part of that.
One wrinkle on Troy: ESPN's model gives them 67.7%. The price, with the vig stripped out, says about 77%. That gap looks like a Southern Miss bet until you notice the market already had Southern Miss's money and moved toward Troy anyway. One model against a market that just told you the opposite isn't an edge. We're watching, not playing.
The takeaway: read the price, not the crowd.
π― The Squeeze Play
Dodgers @ Braves: First 5 Innings UNDER 3.5
We're not betting the whole game. We're betting the two guys who start it.
The first-five Under 3.5 opened at β122. Now it costs β140 at FanDuel and β145 at bet365. The market agrees with us, which is nice. It also took some of the value on the way up, which is less nice. At β140 we need this to cash about 58% of the time.
Why we're in
Chris Sale has been rude this October: 12 strikeouts, one walk and zero homers in 7β
innings.
His WHIP is 0.78. That's fewer than one hit or walk an inning.
Across from him, Yoshinobu Yamamoto put up a 2.53 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP over 185 regular-season innings. The last time he saw Atlanta, in August, he gave up one run in 6β
innings and lost 1β0.
The first five are mostly the starters' innings. Less bullpen roulette.
π§ The Pulp
This loses on one bad inning. A two-run homer in the first, and suddenly two aces have to hold the next four innings to one run. That's a long night. We're betting on Sale and Yamamoto, not on Game 3 being polite.

Squeeze Rating: π (1% of bankroll. Each π = 1%.)
Lines move. If yours is worse than β150, we're out, and you should be too. If Sale or Yamamoto is scratched, we're out.

π° Pulp Fiction
"Big moneyline favorites are free money."
At β500, you risk five units to win one. That price says the team wins about 83% of the time (500 Γ· 600). One loss wipes out five wins, and favorites lose.
Tonight's example: Troy at β410 has to win about 80% of the time (410 Γ· 510) just for you to break even. That's not free. That's expensive.
FICTION: Heavy favorites are free money.
THE JUICE: You're paying for safety. Make sure it's worth it.

π§ The Last Drop
C) A one-sided split, by itself, doesn't force a move.
The big books opened Toronto between β148 and β164 on Monday. Since then the consensus price has stayed between β151 and β157, and every book now sits between β150 and β156. Not A: big Nashville bets would show up in the money share. Not B: the money's already 95% Toronto, and the price still hasn't moved. Lines move on new information and on how a book manages risk, not ticket counts alone. Check whether the price actually moved before you read anything into it.
That's Tuesday. We'll see you tomorrow, before breakfast.
