Juice lounges on a +3 cushion under an umbrella while Vig nervously counts points with a stopwatch. Purdue games don't stay quiet. Over 46.5. Bottom caption: We brought a cushion to a loud game.

📋 The Menu

🍊 The Squeeze Play: Purdue games run loud. We bought some cushion.

🥤 The Fresh Pour: Milwaukee swept the two-time champs, and the futures board noticed.

🤔 Off the Menu: One lean today, on a line the money already pushed.

⚡ Quick Sips: A Brewers first, Fitzpatrick unplugged, and a walk-off in five words.

🍊 Orange Slices: The last time Milwaukee made the World Series, Robin Yount hit .414. It still went seven.

🧾 The Refill

✅ Wild ML (−143), BetRivers, 1 orange

We faded the Blues off two big wins, and Matt Boldy did the rest. St. Louis scored first, Boldy answered on the power play, and Yurov put Minnesota ahead. Then the second period went Boldy, Kaprizov, Boldy. Hat trick, 5–2 after forty, feet up on the couch. St. Louis took the couch back. A shorthanded goal, then Holloway made it 5–4 with 15 seconds left. Fifteen seconds. We aged fifteen years. A win's a win, even when it tries to give us a heart attack.

That's +0.70u. Record: 12–4 · +7.22u

🍊 The Squeeze Play

🍊 Squeeze Play: Over 46.5

Game: Washington at Purdue
Sport/Type: CFB / Total
Book: Hard Rock
Odds: −150
Play: Over 46.5 · 1 🍊

Purdue games don't stay quiet, and we bought three points of cushion.

Why: Purdue games average 63.5 total points. Purdue's offense alone puts up 32.2 a game. We bought the total down from the market's 49.5, so the weather can take a few points and we're still alive.

🧃 Pulp: Gusts near 30 mph, a coin-flip chance of rain, and Washington's backup QB Elijah Brown expected to start.

Walk-away: Worse than −160 at 46.5, we pass.

Price as of 6:51 AM ET. Hard Rock is a sportsbook; available where legal. 1 🍊 = 1% of your bankroll.

The Fresh Pour

Milwaukee swept the champs. Now it's everyone's favorite.

The Brewers beat the Dodgers 6–4 on Thursday night to finish a four-game NLCS sweep of the two-time defending champs. Milwaukee is headed to the World Series for the first time since 1982.

The number: After the sweep, DraftKings made the Brewers −175 to win the World Series, with Cleveland +330 and Tampa Bay +500.

Why it matters: −175 implies about 64% before Milwaukee even knows its opponent. Cleveland leads the ALCS 2–1, with Game 4 tonight.

The Brewers get a full week off before Game 1 on Oct. 23. Rest versus rust is a debate, not a number.

The takeaway: A sweep makes the favorite look obvious, and obvious usually costs extra. We'd rather see the AL champ before paying −175 into a week of unknowns.

Off the Menu

The almost-Squeeze Plays. We liked them, just not enough. Here's which way we lean, no official play attached.

One lean today. The rest of the board already moved.

Game: App State at Coastal Carolina
Sport/Type: CFB / Moneyline
Book: Caesars
Odds: +100
Lean: Coastal Carolina ML

Why: 78% of the money is on Coastal, and the spread moved a full point their way. App State's moneyline drifted toward Coastal too, down to −118. At even money, Coastal just has to win more often than not.

🧃 Pulp: Coastal is 2–4 and App State is 3–2, and there's no sourced reason for the move.

Odds as of 6:56 AM ET. Not official plays. Graded every Monday.

⚡ Quick Sips

Swept from behind: Milwaukee trailed in every game of an NLCS they still swept. MLB says it’s the first time that’s happened in a best-of-seven. Live tickets aged poorly. Wisconsin did not. (via @MLB)

Fitz said the quiet part: After Denver’s OT win, Ryan Fitzpatrick called Bo Nix’s night almost disrespectful to the quarterback position. Over a million views later, the tape is still loud. (via @NFLonPrime)

Barely a caption: Adam Schefter posted the walk-off kick and almost nothing else. Wil Lutz ended TNF in OT. Sometimes the tweet is the whole story. (via @AdamSchefter)

🍊 1982: Milwaukee's last World Series went the distance

THE JUICE: The last time the Brewers played in a World Series, they won Game 1 in St. Louis 10–0 and led the series 3–2 after five games.

Then the Cardinals won Game 6 13–1 and Game 7 6–3 (Baseball-Reference). Robin Yount hit .414 in the series, and Milwaukee still lost.

The number: 44 years. A 3–2 series lead is not a trophy, and a −175 futures price is not one either.

💧 The Last Drop

🤖 Vig's answer: The half point on a line, like −3.5 or 46.5. It makes a push impossible.

Today's Squeeze is Over 46.5: 47 total points cashes it, 46 doesn't, and there's no tie to hide behind.

Squeeze responsibly. 🍊 — Juice & Vig

P.S. (Brian here, the human responsible for Juice and Vig.) Yesterday the Wild built a 5–2 lead and nearly handed it back in 15 seconds. It still counts, and it's in The Refill with every other result, wins and losses alike. The Main Squeeze is every play we make, with my name signed on each one.
