GM. This is Everyday Juice, where Juice spent Sunday night yelling "How do the Rams lose that?!" and Vig answered, without looking up, "About 11% of the time."

🍊 The Squeeze Play: Everybody likes San Francisco. We like them by 12, and we're getting paid plus money for it.
🥤 The Fresh Pour: Almost everybody bet the Rams. Arizona kicked six field goals and won anyway.
🤔 Off the Menu: Freddy Peralta's outs, the Monday night Over and an ALCS Under. Leans only, no orange attached.
⚡ Quick Sips: A lineman's doomed return trip, Skattebo's quiet Sunday, and Rodgers on diapers.
🍊 Orange Slices: Sharp or Shit? In Toronto, the smart-looking money is fighting the crowd.
🤖 Beat the Vig: Tampa Bay is −150 to close out the ALCS (DraftKings, 6:56 AM ET). What win chance does that price imply? Answer in The Last Drop.

🍊 Refill: ✅ · Over 37.5 (−118), FanDuel, 1 orange · +0.85u
We were drafting the apology going into the final quarter, then Chris Boswell's field goals and a late Chase McLaughlin kick to tie it pushed regulation half a point over our number, and Aaron Rodgers' overtime touchdown to Germie Bernard was the garnish.
Record: 14–5 · +7.74u

🍊 Squeeze Play: 49ers −11.5
Game: Commanders at 49ers
Sport/Type: NFL / Alt Spread
Book: BetRivers
Odds: +148
Play: 49ers −11.5 · 1 🍊
Everybody's on San Francisco tonight. We are too, just with a bigger margin and a better price.
Why: San Francisco is 5–0 and has scored 154 points while allowing 93 (ESPN). The spread has moved from −5.5 at open to −7.5 (Action Network). Eighty-six percent of the spread money is on San Francisco (Action Network). Washington has allowed 149 points in five games and is without Marcus Mariota (knee) and RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) (ESPN). At +148, BetRivers pays more than our fair price of about +139 for a 12-point win.
🧃 Pulp: San Francisco has won by 12+ only twice in five games. It also plays without Nick Bosa, so one late Washington score kills it.
Walk-away: Don't play it worse than +140.

A −824 favorite is a price, not a promise
Sunday's most-bet moneyline favorites were the Rams and the Chiefs, with 97% of tickets each (Action Network). The Rams closed around −824 (Action Network consensus). Arizona won 18–16 on a field goal as time expired (ESPN).
The Colts were the other public favorite to go down, losing to Tennessee 26–20 (ESPN). Indianapolis had drawn 95% of moneyline tickets (Action Network). Of Sunday's five most-bet favorites, only Kansas City covered (Action Network, ESPN).
Why it matters: That Rams price implied a win about 89.2% of the time (our math: 824 ÷ 924). Put another way, it's roughly one loss in nine tries, and Sunday was the one. Laying that price means a single upset wipes out more than eight straight wins. So the question is never "will they win?" It's "do they win more often than the price says?"
Today's board (moves since open, Action Network consensus, 6:56 AM ET):
Commanders at 49ers: San Francisco has grown into a 7.5-point favorite since open. The total has climbed to 52. Nick Bosa is out for San Francisco, and Marcus Mariota and Jacory Croskey-Merritt are out for Washington. We don't have a sourced reason for the line move, so we're not writing one.
Avalanche at Flyers: The total is up to 6.5. That's a full goal since open, which is a lot in hockey. Nearly all of the moneyline money, 99%, is on Colorado. No sourced reason for the total move either.
Penguins at Utah: Utah has moved to −186. Eighty-six percent of tickets and money are on Utah.
ALCS Game 6: The Rays lead the series 3–2 (ESPN). Tampa Bay has moved to −151 consensus since open, and the total hasn't budged. Freddy Peralta is listed for Tampa Bay, and Cleveland's starter wasn't on our feed (ESPN).
How Sunday's backup-QB moves aged (closing lines, Action Network; finals, ESPN): Carolina won in Philly by 11. Pittsburgh won in overtime and covered. Baltimore lost in Cleveland with Tyler Huntley starting. Kansas City, the move we couldn't explain, won by 16.
The takeaway: A crowd on San Francisco isn't a reason to bet Washington, and it isn't a reason to bet San Francisco either. Yesterday the public got smoked on two favorites. We're still not fading a favorite just to be contrary, and our 49ers play is about our own number, not the crowd's (see The Squeeze Play).

The almost-Squeeze Plays. We liked them, just not enough. Here's which way we lean, no official play attached.
Game: Guardians at Rays
Sport/Type: MLB / Player Prop
Book: BetRivers
Odds: −143
Lean: Freddy Peralta Over 13.5 Outs
Why: Peralta has recorded at least 14 outs in each of his last seven starts (ESPN game log). That includes 18 outs on 99 pitches in Game 2. The Rays won that game 3–1. They list him as their Game 6 starter at Tropicana Field. He did throw nine pitches in relief in Game 4 on Saturday.
🧃 Pulp: Those nine relief pitches are the leash risk.
Game: Commanders at 49ers
Sport/Type: NFL / Total
Book: BetRivers
Odds: −109
Lean: Over 51.5
Why: The total climbed from 50.5 at open to 52 (Action Network). Sixty-nine percent of the money is on the Over (Action Network). Jayden Daniels is active, and the 49ers are without Nick Bosa (ESPN). Daniels ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns last game (ESPN). The Santa Clara forecast is dry, with wind easing to single digits after kickoff (Open-Meteo).
🧃 Pulp: The move already happened, so this is a price play, not an edge.
Game: Guardians at Rays
Sport/Type: MLB / Total
Book: FanDuel
Odds: −105
Lean: Under 6.5
Why: Every book has this ALCS Game 6 total at 6.5 (Action Network). Freddy Peralta starts for Tampa Bay (ESPN). It's indoors at Tropicana Field, so weather is out of it, and Cleveland still hasn't posted a starter.
🧃 Pulp: Sixty-five percent of the money is on the Over, and the price is drifting that way.
Odds as of 7:51–8:03 AM ET. Not official plays. Graded every Monday.

Field goals all afternoon: LJ Collier scooped up a botched Rams conversion try and decided he was taking it the distance himself. He did not. It didn't matter: Arizona never found the end zone, kicked field goals all afternoon, and still beat a Rams team laying nearly two touchdowns at home. Juice's Monday reminder: a big spread is a suggestion, not a promise. (via @NFL)
The prop that lost in the film room: Cam Skattebo suited up, and the Giants never handed him the ball, a week after his overtime fumble. He owned it afterward: "I got punished for what I did, and I understand." Juice's lesson for prop bettors: a role can change before kickoff, and nobody sends you a memo. (via @BleacherReport)
Respect your elders: After the Steelers came back from 13 down to win in overtime, Aaron Rodgers said some of the young Bucs grew up "watching me in diapers." The same veteran threw the overtime touchdown that put the garnish on our Over. Juice respects his elders, and his elders' kickers. (via @NFLonCBS)

📊 Peel Back the Numbers
Sharp-ish, against the crowd: San Jose. About three-quarters of the tickets and money are on Toronto. Yet the Leafs have drifted to −143 since open. That's the classic sharp tell.
Agree, but done: 49ers −7.5 and the MNF Over. Money and line agree, and the moves are done. Our plays here are about price, not steam.
Shit (no read): Rangers. Seventy-seven percent of tickets are on New York. Only 57% of the money is.
Splits and lines: Action Network, 6:56 AM ET. The labels are our read, not inside info.
Kicker: The sharps say Sharks, the public says Leafs, and we're staying out of it with a bag of popcorn. Story of our lives.

🤖 Vig's answer: About 60%. For minus odds, divide the odds by the odds plus 100 (150 ÷ 250).
That's a lot less sure than the Rams were. And you saw how that went.
