Juice sips a drink on a wall of sandbags numbered 1 to 19 plus a half, holding back a red wave, while Vig keeps a tally. Text: We'll take the points. All 19.5 of them. Arizona State +19.5.

GM.

Vig: Texas Tech is laying three touchdowns, and you're taking the other side?

Juice: I'm taking 19.5 points. I counted every one.

Vig: Why are they in sandbags?

Juice: Forecast says red wave.

🧾 The Refill

✅ Washington/Purdue Over 46.5 (−150), Hard Rock Bet, 1 orange

We bet on two defenses having a Friday night off, and both delivered. It was 24–17 at the half after Bonner punched one in with 27 seconds left, so we needed six more points with a full half to play.

A 48-yard Purdue field goal got it to 44, then Brown hit Roebuck for a 4-yard touchdown 48 seconds into the fourth: 51 points, Over cashed. Nobody stopped there. Cooley's 53-yard run made it 38–26 with 10:30 still left. That's 64 points, 17.5 clear of the number. We didn't sweat this one; Ross-Ade did.

That's +0.67u. Record: 13–4 · +7.89u

🍊 The Squeeze Play

🍊 Squeeze Play: Arizona State +19.5

Game: Arizona State at Texas Tech
Sport/Type: CFB / Alt Spread
Book: Hard Rock Bet
Odds: −160
Play: Arizona State +19.5 · 1 🍊

Three touchdowns is a lot to ask from a team that keeps handing the ball over.

Why: Texas Tech has failed to cover in three of its five games as a big favorite, and QB Will Hammond already has 5 interceptions this season.

The Red Raiders are also without their top running back, Cameron Dickey (ankle), which makes it harder to grind out a three-touchdown win. Getting +19.5 puts us past 17, one of the most common final margins in college football, and Arizona State QB Cutter Boley (1,229 yards, 12 TDs) can score late to keep it inside the number.

🧃 Pulp: Hammond's turnovers can backfire on us too, because if Tech gets a couple of short fields this gets away fast.

Walk-away: Pass if it's worse than −160 or the number drops below +19.5.

The Fresh Pour

Oregon opened −21.5. The opener's gone.

Oregon was a 21.5-point favorite over Nebraska at open. As of 6:59 AM ET, it’s −6.5, per Action Network’s consensus. That’s 15 points of movement since open.

The quarterback situation explains a lot of it. Oregon ruled Dante Moore out again with a concussion. Walk-on Brock Thomas is expected to start, per CBS/247, but Oregon hasn’t officially named him.

Why it matters: Nebraska’s moneyline went from +1500 to +215. At +215, the Huskers need to win 31.7% of the time to break even.

That’s a real chance, and the market already priced most of it in.

The takeaway: You can’t bet the opener. The guy who grabbed Oregon −21.5 or Nebraska +1500 early in the week already got his number. Your only question is whether −6.5 is wrong right now.

The almost-Squeeze Plays. We liked them, just not enough. Here's which way we lean, no official play attached.

Game: Boston at Los Angeles
Sport/Type: NHL / Moneyline
Book: BetRivers
Odds: −130
Lean: Kings ML

Why: Boston played last night in Anaheim and won 4–2, so this is a road back-to-back, the spot Brian's model fades. ESPN lists Michael DiPietro as expected in goal for Boston against Darcy Kuemper. 63% of the money is on Boston, but the line still moved toward LA, and −130 needs 56.5% to break even.

🧃 Pulp: Goalies are expected, not confirmed.

Game: Nebraska at Oregon
Sport/Type: CFB / Total
Book: Caesars
Odds: −108
Lean: Under 51.5

Why: Oregon is reportedly expected to start walk-on Brock Thomas at QB (CBS/247), with Dante Moore out a third straight game. The total hasn't moved off 51.5 even with 73% of tickets on the over. At −108, it needs 51.9% to break even.

🧃 Pulp: Thomas isn't officially named, so a QB surprise moves this.

Odds as of 6:59 AM ET. Not official plays. Graded every Monday.

⚡ Quick Sips

Dog with a defense: Tulane was the home underdog Friday and beat Memphis outright, with the Tigers handing over six turnovers. This pick-six right before halftime was the loudest of them. (via @ESPNCFB)

Logo-range Luka: Luka Dončić pulled up from the logo against Denver and buried it, part of 15 points by halftime. It's preseason, so it counts for nothing. We've still watched it a dozen times. (via @NBA)

Cheat code enabled: Victor Wembanyama turned a preseason possession against the Kings into a highlight that looked fake. Adam Schefter, an NFL insider, wandered over to caption it: “Wemby playing a video game.” Hard to argue. (via @AdamSchefter)

📊 Peel Back the Numbers

🍊 Game 4 got bumped to Saturday night

THE JUICE: Friday’s rainout moved ALCS Game 4 to tonight at 8 PM ET in Cleveland, with Cleveland up 2–1 in the series. ESPN lists Nick Martinez for Tampa Bay against Shawn Armstrong for Cleveland.

The number: At 6:59 AM ET, the best prices were Tampa Bay −112 (FanDuel) and Cleveland −102 (Caesars), with a total of 6.5. Both sides are priced like a coin flip.

🤖 Vig's answer: About 31.7%. For plus odds, divide 100 by (odds + 100): 100 ÷ 315 = 31.7%.

Early in the week, +1500 implied about 6.3%. That number is gone. You can’t bet the opener, only the price in front of you.
