GM. This is Everyday Juice, the sports betting newsletter that checks for a cushion before it sits down.
Juice: Fifty-six points scored, and we still squeezed under the number. Barely. Beautifully.
๐ค Vig: We cleared the Under by two and a half points. Nail-biter, but it counts.

๐งพ The Refill: A total that tried to get away from us. Tried.
๐ The Squeeze Play: A home favorite against an offense that lost the map.
๐ฅค The Fresh Pour: Seattle goes shopping. Indianapolis starts selling.
๐ฑ On the Vine: Two road dogs, each traveling with a goal and a half of bubble wrap.
โก Quick Sips: A surprise October slugger, a half of pure flamethrowing, and a buzzer in overtime.
๐ The Sour Squeeze: Five legs cashed. Brunson didn't.
๐คฏ Pulp Fiction: Three outs from a sweep, Tampa refused to leave the party.
๐ผ Vintage Juice: The night Atlanta finally closed.
๐ฌ The Juice Box: What a minus sign is really charging you.
๐ง Betting IQ: A crowd tells you how many. Money tells you how hard.
๐ Juicy Meme: The two most dangerous words in October.
๐ค Beat the Vig: Before the Red Sox in 2004, no MLB team had ever come back from 3โ0 down in a series. Who did Boston beat? Answer in The Last Drop.

Refill: โ ยท Delaware at Western Kentucky Under 58.5 (โ125), 1๐ ยท +0.80u
Delaware won 35โ21, and the total stopped just short of our number. That fourth quarter took a few years off our lives.

๐Squeeze Play: Middle Tennessee ML
Kennesaw forgot where the end zone is. We didn't.
| Game | Kennesaw State at Middle Tennessee |
| Sport/Type | NCAAF / Moneyline |
| Book | bet365 |
| Odds | โ140 |
| Play | Middle Tennessee ML ยท 1๐ |
Why: Kennesaw State has lost six straight. Last week the Owls scored 6 points against Liberty. Middle Tennessee is 4โ3 and already beat Murray State, Nevada and Delaware at home.
Pulp: Middle Tennessee converts only about a quarter of its third downs, so a few Owls stops could stall this offense all night.
Walk-away: Walk away at โ145 or worse.

Seattle buys a guard. Indianapolis starts selling.
What happened: The defending champion Seahawks traded for All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson on Tuesday. Indianapolis gets a third-rounder and a fifth-rounder in future drafts. Nelson is on an expiring deal, so this is a half-season rental unless Seattle extends him.
Why it matters: Seattle just put a sturdier wall in front of Sam Darnold. The Seahawks have allowed pressure on 38.4% of dropbacks. A few hours later, the Colts also shipped DeForest Buckner back to San Francisco for a fourth-rounder. Indy is 2โ5, and the yard sale is officially open.
The takeaway: Seattle's Super Bowl price only nudged to +1100 at DraftKings, per SI. Books barely move for linemen, even great ones. Indy is selling, so keep an eye on Jonathan Taylor's name next.

Today's leans: Not ripe enough to squeeze. Yet. We liked them, just not enough.
Calgary gets a goal and a half in Edmonton.
| Game | Flames at Oilers |
| Sport/Type | NHL / Puck line |
| Book | BetMGM |
| Odds | โ130 |
| Lean | Flames +1.5 |
Why: Calgary cashes this with a win or a one-goal loss. Mattias Ekholm is out for the Oilers, and Zach Hyman is listed day to day. Edmonton opened at โ244 and has drifted down since.
Pulp: The sharp market says this price is a little rich, so we're paying a small premium for the view.

Philadelphia gets a goal and a half in Washington.
| Game | Flyers at Capitals |
| Sport/Type | NHL / Puck line |
| Book | BetMGM |
| Odds | โ125 |
| Lean | Flyers +1.5 |
Why: Washington is without Desharnais, Sandin and Thomas, per ESPN. BetMGM's โ125 is close to the sharp market's price, a hair rich.
Pulp: Konecny and Tippett are both on injured reserve, and the Flyers' missing forwards cap how much offense they can bring.

David Hamilton picked a great time to find his power. He hit just 4 homers in the regular season, and now he's going deep in the World Series. October doesn't read the scouting report. (via @MLB)
Julian Champagnie caught fire. He hit 8 threes in a single half, tying his career high. Somewhere, a player-prop Under is filing a complaint. (via @NBA)
Jayson Tatum called game. He dropped 40 and hit a turnaround jumper at the overtime buzzer. Brooklyn is still winless, but anyone holding the Nets plus the points got paid anyway. (via @celtics)

Five legs home, and then Brunson. SportCardSells built a Knicks and Pistons same game parlay at +9325. OG Anunoby, Cade Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet all came through. Jalen Brunson needed 40 points, rebounds and assists. He finished with 31, per the ESPN box score.
Juice: Brunson still helped the Knicks grab their first win of the season. That's cold comfort when one leg is all that stood between this slip and a real payday. (via @SportCardSells)

Three outs from a sweep, Tampa refused to leave. Cooper Pratt's solo homer put Milwaukee ahead in the 12th. Jonny DeLuca tied it in the bottom half. Then pinch-hitter Ben Williamson walked it off, and the Rays won 4โ3. Per MLB.com, the only other team facing a sweep to win on a walk-off was the 1910 Cubs.
Our read: Milwaukee still leads the series 3โ1. No team has ever come back from 0โ3 in a World Series. The Rays didn't change history. They just paid one more night of rent.

1995, Atlanta finally closes. On Oct. 28, 1995, the Braves beat Cleveland 1โ0 in Game 6 to win the World Series. It was their first title since the franchise moved to Atlanta. Tom Glavine and Mark Wohlers combined on a one-hitter. David Justice's homer in the sixth was the only run anybody needed.
Why it still matters: A one-run game can feel like a masterpiece or a coin flip, and the box score looks the same either way. Judge the bet by the price you got, not by how close it felt.

The internet keeps asking "What does minus odds mean in sports betting?"
๐ค Vig: A minus sign marks the favorite. The number is what you risk to win 100 of whatever you bet.
Juice: Minus odds are the cover charge for picking the favorite. The bouncer is the sportsbook.

Tickets vs. money
The idea: Ticket percentage counts how many bets are on a side. Money percentage counts how many dollars, so a few big bets can outweigh a crowd of small ones.
Today's example: In Warriors at Timberwolves, 84% of moneyline tickets were on Minnesota as of Tuesday night, per Action Network. Meanwhile, 94% of the moneyline money was on Golden State.
The takeaway: When tickets and money point opposite ways, find out why before you join the crowd.

Two outs is not a safe space.

๐ค Vig's answer: The New York Yankees, in the 2004 ALCS. Boston won four straight, then swept the World Series. The Rays would like a word.
