THE MAIN POUR
We cashed. Our first Squeeze Play is a winner.
Yesterday's play: Oklahoma State at West Virginia OVER 59.5 (-120) at Hard Rock Bet. Final: Oklahoma State 41, West Virginia 24. That's 65 points, 5.5 clear of the number. We've been doing a little peel-shimmy in the fruit bowl ever since.
It did not start pretty. At halftime West Virginia led 14-13, and we had just 27 points total, needing 60. We were sweating pulp. Then the third quarter poured 25 points in 15 minutes. WVU quarterback M. Hawkins scrambled in for his third touchdown. Oklahoma State answered with a D. Mestemaker touchdown pass and a two-point conversion, and a 22-yard C. Hawkins touchdown run put the Cowboys up 28-24 after three. That left us at 52, eight short. An S. Keltner field goal early in the fourth made it 55. With 5:54 left, Mestemaker found W. Young for a 6-yard touchdown. That's the moment it cashed. Keltner added a 47-yarder for the 41-24 final. West Virginia didn't score in the fourth quarter. We didn't need them to.

2) The Jets' WR room is running on fumes. Arian Smith is on IR with a torn ACL, season-ending (NY Daily News, via ESPN), and Omar Cooper Jr. is on IR (ankle). New York elevated Sterling Shepard and signed Jamaal Pritchett Saturday (The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, via ESPN).
3) Chiefs at Dolphins keeps getting more expensive. KC is now -10, up from -7.5 (Action Network consensus, Sun ~7 AM ET). Somebody really likes Kansas City.
4) Thursday night already happened: Falcons 35, Packers 14 (Covers). Your Sunday group chat has had three days to process it.

📌 ONE-SIDED · 8:20 · Rams @ Broncos · Under 44.5 at FanDuel (-115); DraftKings is already at 43.5 (open 45.5, consensus). The public was piled on the Under Saturday night. Puka Nacua is doubtful (hip), so the drop has a reason.
📌 NEWS ONLY · 1:00 · Seahawks @ Commanders · SEA -8 (consensus), -7.5 at FanDuel. Total 40.5 (consensus), down from 46.5. Jayden Daniels is OUT (elbow); Marcus Mariota is expected to start.

We scrolled the whole Sunday board looking for something better. We didn't find one, so here we are.
Most books are hanging 48.5. We're paying up on Hard Rock Bet to get it down to 47. That makes the classic 27-21 final a win, and a 27-20 gets our money back instead of ruining our afternoon. Worth a few extra cents.
Why we're in
Detroit has scored 31 in both games. Goff has 533 yards and 6 TDs. Their games have finished at 61 and 72 total points.
Also, the Lions' defense is allowing 35.5 a game. Their secondary is held together with orange duct tape and hope. Maddox is out for the year, Branch and Joseph are already out, and Harper just landed on IR.
The Jets' D has been elite on paper, but it's missing Fitzpatrick, Mauigoa and Onyemata.
It's a dome and the Lions are on 10 days of rest. Pour it.
🧃 The Pulp
The Jets offense is the wart here. Their first two games totaled 33 and 37 points, and they're missing Mason Taylor and Arian Smith. If New York no-shows, 27-17 ruins our Sunday.
But we don't need the Jets to be good. We need them to be not tragic. Scores like 31-20, 28-21 and 27-21 all get there, and we paid for the extra point so the ugly finishes don't beat us.

Football scores bunch up on certain numbers, and 27-21 = 48 is one of the most common finals out there. Watch what happens to that exact score on three different Overs:
Over 48.5: 48 loses. You screamed at your TV for nothing.
Over 48: 48 pushes. You get your money back.
Over 47: 48 wins, and 47 (hi, 27-20) pushes.
That's why we shop totals. Half a point can turn a loss into a push, or a push into a win. Buying the number down costs extra juice (today we're paying -135 to get 47 instead of most books' 48.5), and it's only worth it if the number is real and still on the board when you bet. Check before you fire.
