๐ Juice: A sportsbook is paying us more than the sharps think it should. I'm not asking questions.
๐ค Vig: We're 19 and 6. The books have started reading us like a ransom note.
GM. This is Everyday Juice, the sports betting newsletter that treats the vig like a parking ticket: annoying, unavoidable, and always worth contesting.

๐งพ The Refill: A walk-off field goal in Columbia. Our cardiologist has notes.
๐ The Squeeze Play: FanDuel is paying even money on first-half points in Minnesota. We're accepting before risk management finishes its coffee.
๐ฅค The Fresh Pour: New York's books kept 10.3% of every dollar bet in the week ending Oct 18. Guess who paid for that.
๐ค Off the Menu: Two bets on Browns-Titans being ugly, and a Vikings line we'll pay extra for.
โก Quick Sips: UCF ends BYU's unbeaten run in double OT, Wisconsin holds USC to negative rushing yards, and Maxey drills one from half court.
๐คฏ Pulp Fiction: The NFL flew to Paris and the fan house got benched first.
๐ Juicy Meme: Our streak counter finally has a number worth printing.
๐ค Beat the Vig: Today's Squeeze pays even money, and the sharp market prices the same bet at about โ105. What win rate does each price imply? Answer in The Last Drop.
Trade Against Fans, Not the House
Novig is a prediction market: you trade against other fans, not a house that sets the odds. Make your own price or take someone else's, and nobody gets limited for winning.

Refill: โ ยท South Carolina ML +0.74u
South Carolina tied it on a Sellers touchdown run with 1:17 left, then won it on a 48-yard field goal with two seconds on the clock. Our contribution was aging about four years in the final minute.

๐ Squeeze Play: Colts @ Vikings 1H Over 20.5
Game: Colts @ Vikings
Sport/Type: NFL / 1H Total
Book: FanDuel
Odds: +100
Play: 1H Over 20.5 ยท 1 ๐
Why: FanDuel's even money on the first-half Over beats the sharp market's fair price of about โ105, a rare act of generosity from a sportsbook. Indianapolis is down defensive starters, with Sauce Gardner and CJ Allen both listed out. We need just 21 combined points by halftime to cash it, so both offenses just have to show up awake.
Pulp: Murray starts for Minnesota and Jones starts for Indianapolis, so no backup QB gets blamed for the pace. If both offenses spend the first half punting and politely kicking field goals, halftime shows up short and the vig sends a thank-you card.
Walk-away: worse than โ105. Past that, it's a pass.

The books ate well in New York
What happened: New York's sportsbooks just had their best hold week of the football season. They kept 10.3% of every dollar bet in the week ending Oct 18. That's $63.3 million kept from $615.1 million wagered. FanDuel held 12.1%, its first double-digit week since Week 1 of the college football season. It was also the books' first week above $60 million since the World Cup ended in July.
Why it matters to your bankroll: When the house keeps 10 cents of every dollar, parlays and impulse bets are usually paying for it. Fewer, pickier bets keep you out of that number.

Today's leans: The almost-Squeeze Plays. We liked them, just not enough.
A total this low is the market begging for a punting contest.
Game: Browns @ Titans
Sport/Type: NFL / Total
Book: Kalshi
Odds: +108
Lean: Under 36.5
Why: Watson and Ward haven't given us a reason to expect fireworks, and plus-money on a low Under pays us to root for third-and-long.
Pulp: One defensive touchdown and the plan goes sideways. Low totals have no room for chaos.
Laying an extra point to get paid like an underdog.
Game: Colts @ Vikings
Sport/Type: NFL / Alt Spread
Book: Kalshi
Odds: +133
Lean: Vikings โ7.5
Why: Indianapolis is missing a pile of starters, and we think Murray and Minnesota can turn that into a comfortable margin. The alt line asks for a little more and pays a lot more.
Pulp: One late Jones touchdown and a full-touchdown win stops being enough. Alt lines are fun until the backdoor swings open.
Home dog, a point and a half, no drama required.
Game: Browns @ Titans
Sport/Type: NFL / Spread
Book: FanDuel
Odds: โ104
Lean: Titans +1.5
Why: In a game we expect to be low-scoring, we'd rather hold points with Ward at home than lay them with Watson.
Pulp: A point and a half doesn't survive a field goal loss. Close is not the same as covered.
Odds as of 12:25 AM ET Sun. Kalshi prices are before fees. Not official plays. Leans are not part of the Squeeze record.

UCF knocked off No. 2 BYU in double overtime. The Knights won 39-31 for their first win over a top-five team in school history, and the fans stormed the field like rent was due. (via @UCF_Football)
Wisconsin made USC run backwards. The Badgers won 24-7, holding a Lincoln Riley team to its fewest points ever. USC finished with minus 17 rushing yards, which is a lot of sacks and zero fun. (via @UnderdogCFB)
Tyrese Maxey pulled up from half court. He beat the first-quarter buzzer from the logo, and Philly went on to beat Milwaukee 127-116. Somebody on the Bucks bench is still replaying the closeout. (via @ESPNNBA)

The NFL went to Paris and found the doors locked. The league closed its NFL House fan hub Saturday as the city braced for street protests. Its pop-up shop shut too, citing "potential accessibility issues." The Saints pushed their own fan house to Sunday. Steelers-Saints at Stade de France is still on.
Our take: First regular-season game in France, and the merch tent got ruled out before the kicker. The spread, naturally, traveled just fine.

Day 6. Sponsored by a 48-yard field goal and our resting heart rate.

๐ค Vig's answer: Even money needs 50% to break even (our math: 100 รท 200). The โ105 fair price implies about 51.2% (105 รท 205). That gap of roughly a point is the whole reason we're on it. Vig would like it noted that FanDuel left it there, not him.
