GM. This is Everyday Juice, the sports betting newsletter that took Wednesday off and didn't lose a dime.

🍊 The Squeeze Play: Wild ML (−143). Fading the hot Blues.
🥤 The Main Pour: The rain moved ALCS Game 3 to 1 PM, and that might matter more than the umbrella sales.
🍹 Off the Menu: Two leans: Cleveland in daylight, and the money following Milwaukee.
⚡ Quick Sips: A stunned Dodger Stadium, a sandwich order roasting two QBs, and a $500K car.
🍊 Orange Slices: The Dodgers are down 0–3. Baseball has seen this movie 40-plus times. One ending was different.
🤖 Beat the Vig: A 3-leg parlay with every leg at −110 pays about what odds? Answer in The Last Drop.

🍊 Refill: PASS (Wed Oct 14)
No Squeeze on Wednesday. We looked, nothing hit our number, and we kept the orange in the bowl. No bet, no result, nothing to grade.
Record unchanged: 11–4 · +6.52u · ROI 38.4% · W1.
Quiet day for us. Your own bets still deserve a ledger.

🍊 Squeeze Play: Wild ML (−143), BetRivers, 1 🍊 (price as of 8:25 AM ET)
The Blues are on a heater. That's exactly why we're on the other side.
Why the number
Our NHL model fades a team coming off two bigger-than-expected wins and backs a team coming off a loss. St. Louis beat Columbus 5–3 as a −116 favorite, then won 7–2 at Ottawa as a −128 favorite. Minnesota is coming off a 5–2 loss at Winnipeg after winning its two games before that. The Wild opened −182 and are now about −149 consensus; we got −143.
Why we're in
The projected goalies favor us, Wallstedt (.933, 1.82 GAA) against Hofer (.920), though neither is confirmed per Daily Faceoff. The Wild are home, and the model says buy the bounce-back.
🧃 The Pulp
Fair is about −133, so we're paying a bit over. Minnesota is thin, with Faber, Gustavsson and both Folignos on IR. A hot Hofer is the biggest risk.
Walk-away: worse than −150, we pass.
BetRivers is a sportsbook; available where legal. 1 🍊 = 1% of your bankroll.

The rain moved Game 3 into Gavin Williams' good hours
The ALCS is tied 1–1, and Game 3 just got a new start time. MLB moved Thursday's Rays at Guardians game up five hours, from 6 PM to 1 PM ET, because rain is in the forecast for Cleveland later in the day (ESPN). It's the first game of the series outdoors after two at Tropicana Field.
That schedule change lands on Gavin Williams. Cleveland's right-hander led the AL with 248 strikeouts this season with a 3.76 ERA. The split that jumps out: a 4.82 ERA in 19 night starts and a 2.42 ERA in 13 day starts (ESPN). He just got a day game he wasn't scheduled for.
Now the asterisk. Williams threw 210 pitches over six days in the Division Series: five innings in Game 2, an 18-pitch relief inning on two days' rest in Game 4, then 12 strikeouts over 5⅔ innings in Game 5. He says his body and arm feel good. Cleveland had him throw a bullpen session Tuesday before naming him the starter.
Tampa counters with Griffin Jax, a converted reliever making his first career postseason start. He had a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts this year and hasn't started since Sept. 26, when a line drive off his lower back cut that outing short. His only October work was two innings of relief in the ALDS.
Best prices at 7:02 AM ET: Cleveland −130 (FanDuel, Caesars) and Tampa +113 (bet365). Total 6.5, with Over −115 and Under +100 at the best books (Action Network board). The Rays won 98 games. The Guardians won 85.
Why it matters: Day/night splits are noisy. Thirteen starts is a small sample, so don't treat that gap as gospel. But the market priced this game partly on who's pitching, and the start-time change gives Williams his better-looking window. The flip side is how deep he goes after that workload, and how much of the game ends up in each bullpen.
The takeaway: The time change is a real reason to give Cleveland a little more credit than you would have Tuesday. But −130 already says the Guardians win about 56.5% of the time, so the number isn't a gift. We're watching this one. Today's Squeeze is on the ice. Tonight's other game: Brewers at Dodgers, NLCS Game 4 at 8 PM ET, with Milwaukee up 3–0 after a 6–2 win Wednesday (ESPN).

The almost-Squeeze Plays. These are leans, not plays: nothing official attached.
Rays at Guardians · ALCS Game 3 · 1:00 PM ET, TBS/truTV
Lean: Guardians ML −130 (FanDuel/Caesars)
The Main Pour, in one line: Williams in daylight (2.42 ERA in 13 day starts, ESPN) against a converted reliever making his first postseason start. Thin, and we know it.
🧃 Pulp: The market isn't with us. 66% of the moneyline money is on Tampa, ESPN's Matchup Predictor has Cleveland at just 51.2%, Tampa won the season series 6–2 (AP), and Williams threw 210 pitches in six days last round.
Brewers at Dodgers · NLCS Game 4 · 8:00 PM ET, FS1
Lean: Brewers ML +140 (Caesars)
Milwaukee can close out the sweep, and the money agrees: 59% of it is on the Brewers with 39% of the tickets, and the price has moved their way (+146 → +135 consensus, Action Network). ESPN's model has them at 45.2%; +140 implies about 41.7%.
🧃 Pulp: Milwaukee hasn't named a starter (TBD per ESPN/AP at 7:03 AM ET). Tyler Glasnow goes for LA. If the Brewers announce a weak starter before send, this one comes off the menu.
Seahawks at Broncos (TNF, 8:15 PM ET): PASS. We looked at Thursday night and the books got there first.
Odds as of 7:02 AM ET (best available, Action Network board). Leans, not official plays. Graded every Monday.

Sound of silence: Milwaukee went back-to-back in the seventh, and FOX caught a whole stadium forgetting how to talk. About 735K views. Somewhere, a Dodgers parlay felt that. (via @MLBONFOX)
Order up: A fan walked into a Jersey Mike's and asked for the “Sam Darnold and Justin Herbert combo.” We don't know what's on it. We know it's spicy. (via @MLFootball)
Leasing is for other people: Ja'Marr Chase went viral for buying a custom Rolls-Royce Spectre reported at over $500K. About 63K views. Our bankroll would like a word. (via @MLFootball)

📊 Peel Back the Numbers
🍊 Down 0–3 isn't 0%. It's closer to 2%.
THE JUICE: Per USA Today (as of 2024), 41 MLB teams had won the first three games of a best-of-seven. Exactly one blew it: the Yankees, to the 2004 Red Sox. Last October made it 42: the Dodgers went up 3–0 on these same Brewers and finished the sweep. Even pure coin flips only give you 6.25% to win four straight (0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5). History says it's been rarer than that. Not zero. Just don't confuse “possible” with “priced right.”

🤖 Vig's answer: About +596, roughly 6 to 1. Each −110 leg pays 1.909 in decimal odds: 1.909 × 1.909 × 1.909 = 6.96, minus your stake. Three true coin flips should pay 7 to 1 (+700). That gap is the juice, stacked three times. Parlays don't just multiply the payout. They multiply the house's cut.
